In the heart of India, my grandfather’s story shines as a beacon of courage and determination.
At the age of 17, my grandfather – Mr. T. Raghava – lost his hearing, yet he refused to let this setback define his future. Instead, he embarked on a journey to create opportunities for the deaf community, founding the “All India Deaf Bank Employees Association.” This pioneering organization has been instrumental in securing employment and advocating for the rights of deaf individuals within the banking sector, breaking down barriers and proving that deafness does not limit potential.
Under Mr. Raghava’s continued leadership, the All India Deaf Bank Employees Association has flourished, expanding its reach and impact across the country. His unwavering commitment has set a powerful example, inspiring me and many others to continue advocating for inclusivity and equality.
My grandfather’s lifelong dedication has not only opened doors for countless individuals but has also sparked a movement towards a more inclusive society today. I grew up inspired by my grandfather’s dedication. I witnessed firsthand the impact of his work and was willing to help him out with his organization whenever the opportunity was presented. Later on, I chose to forge my own path in making a difference. Drawing from my experiences and driven by a deep sense of purpose, I decided to establish my own organization in North Carolina, USA.
